This looks like 1mm-003 listed on CC but none of the markers on the reverse (die break and gouges on column) could it be an earlier die state?

REally good split on that lower serif... Are there any OBV die markers for 1mm-003... If you can match at least one marker then you have a match... Die markers are the DNA of coins... None are exactly the same!!!

You are concentrating your pics on the lower split, but I don't see the upper split for it to be the 003. There are many 79s with the "torn" D.
Just my opinion.

This may very well be one that was made with the broken punch. It is also possible on any coin that the opposite die may heve been replaced so markers may not match.
