2005D Die Trails

Just found this today, in rolls...

On TrailDies, I did not see any trails for 2005D, so I assume this is a new one?

I don't know, could be die scratches. Could you get a different angle with more light?

I agree that these are not trails. These striations are all a result of the plating not adhering to the core correctly.

I will try to re-photograph the coin. I think there is a combination of both striations (bubble-like lines) and trails. There are striations to the upper right of the current photo, but there are trails under UNUM and faint ones under PLURIBUS and maybe one striation under UNUM (mixed in with trails).

Try as mant different light angles as possible... I was trying to get pics of a 95D... I finally placed the camera at a 45 degree angle and the light from the side and from a slight angle...Hopefully they will come out alright after 100 plus tries... LOL!!!
