Looks a bit like lighting may be contributing to the appearance of doubling. You might get the attention of more people if you could post some more convincing photos. (Notching..?)

Hands down MD. I'd take it though, just to have.

So far I have 2 correct answers. I also have had deception. Cindy and Roller are correct. I put several of the same (picture) back in the bag. Always remember it is only a "Cent".

Sometimes they are worth more than a "cent". Heres a recent auction I did mostly out of curiosity. Even with a clear description this 69s MD cent got a small premium. Maybe these have a small demand like a poormans '55? Who knows? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250711609928&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT

I'm totally serious, Jim! Is a beginner defined as someone who has joined LCR in the past month or two, or is it someone who has only been collecting die varieties for less than five years, or is beginner status defined by some other standard?

Is it defined by whether or not you have a coin website?!

I see your point Wendell... A very good one at that... Hopefully someone has the answer because I do not... I may have been collecting coins for 40+ years but I am a beginner... I only wish I had a 10th of the knowledge you do about coins!!!
