I'm looking for suggestions on a stereoscope/microscope or whatever they're called. I'd like to get one that will connect to my computer. It doesn't have to be top of the line, but I don't want to waste my $ on junk either. I don't know much about them so any help would be appreciated.

Here is a post I started a few week's ago. http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1042
You can view my pictures and judge for yourself. The only drawback is I still haven't gotten a full coin shot. Good luck. I will post a picture later when the batteries charge.

Here is what I like about this Steroscope. I can view live the coin on the screen without having a loupe in my eye all the time. I can put the live feed of the Scope on one side and the picture's of what I'm looking for on the other. It makes it easier on the eyes (IMHO) Good luck on your choice of scope. I've added picture's.

That looks like what I need. I was actually watching that exact model on ebay, but it has already ended. It's probably gonna be another month or so before I buy one, depends on what I can get for one of those 06's after I have them certified.

I was looking at this model too on ebay. Have you been able to get a full shot of a coin yet? If not I was wondering if a program like Autostitch (http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html) could lace just 4 separate images together. It's meant for panoramas for like... virtual worlds.

I haven't been able to get a full shot. Searching for RPM's and Error's this scope work's for me. I guess I will pull out the Camera for those type shots.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying a Nikon 995 Coolpix camera on ebay. I think it will require a macro lens to get super close shots of a whole coin. I couldn't afford a "space shuttle" set-up. So I think this camera at least gets me a step closer to the eventual digital camera/trinocular set-up.
I was extremely cautious in my final decision for the camera... Googling around for coin photography had me seeing the Coolpix camera a lot. When I get it set-up, after it arrives, I'll up some photos here.

I've had excellent results with my Canon Rebel XTi with the 60mm USM Macro lens.. Of course the XSi is the current model..

Here's a quick example of a Canon Image..
