Seriously, it might be a post mint dent. Anything like it been reported before?

Do you have a pictue of LIBERTY you can post. I have seen the ear like that before, not that excessive. I am, as you are curious.

The The rest of the coin shows no doubling at all. If someone can do an overlay it might help. I don't have a program that will do it.

I'd have to say (in my very NOVICE opinion), that I think it's post mint damage, but I hope I'm wrong, though!

Looks to have taken a small hit on the ear lobe. Post mint damage.

Yes I wondered about that. Could the hit that caused the dent also push the ear lobe longer?
I think now that Steven's assesment is correct. The dent creates the illusion that the lobe is futher south. Both pictures are 1995 P.
