I was at the bank depositing my check for the week. and picking up my box of cents for tonight and the guy said I have 9.00 in silver dollars and I want 2 for myself. So I said ill take a look at em. They ended up being Ike 72-76 P and D mint coins. Not silver dollars But next to me was some butinski that was like are they really silver ill take em if they are silver. the guy goes Im offering them to him first. and she was getting really impatient. Now I know they arent silver I can tell from the side. I look at them really inspecting them to drive the pain in the rear crazy. and im like ill pass on them this time but thank you for thinking of me. ( he offered me also 3 beat the heck $2 notes and i took them to be nice). But the woman then proceeded to buy all 7 that i passed on saying you sure they are silver i want the silver ones. and as i was walking out i hear her go hey i dont think these are silver , you said you had silver dollars i want the silver dollars you promised.
Im thinking to myself, I know what silver dollars look like. Maybe the teller doesnt thats ok, but am I gonna call him out and make him look and fell dumb cause he made an honest mistake. No. Ill be polite and pass on the coins and as a good jesture I took 3 $2s that were common and beat up to be nice. Now think if someone who you hear at one tellers station is a coin guy and gets offered silver dollars at the prices silver is at and passes dont you think that it would send a red flag up saying hmm whats wrong with this picture?? Even for silver thats gonna be worth 20 ea at least. Then I felt bad about the teller cause now this woman is interrogating him over these 7 coins wanting them and asking the same question over and over, and then for her to say hey I dont think these are really silver and then demanded he produce the real silver coins got me thinking A.) this is no way to get in the holiday spirit and B.) poor guy is probably gonna say F this and never help people again since this is how he gets treated when he tries to be nice.
Some people should learn manners and I know this bank helps me out with stuff from time to time and I think they know that not everything I take has value and I do some taking when i know its nothing. But they mean well and I work with them.
Would you have handled things the same way I did, ( inspected each coin to annoy the butinski ) politely and quietly passed and moved on to the $2s took them to be nice and called it a day?
