1995-D 5c clipped planchet error

I have seen many clipped planchets..straight, ragged, etc...but NEVER one that where the clip is, it didn't go all the way through, just cut 1/2 way of the blank....opinions welcome...the Blakesley effect is present on BOTH sides, and, NO plier marks lead me to believe this may be one rare error as far as clips go. I have seen and read articles on incomplete planchets that get very technical, as far as metal displacement, and double checking real mint error vs. post mint errors, but, never saw a thing about an issue like this.

Interesting coin and I don't know what caused it but a clipped planchet, as I understand it, by definition, is an incomplete panchet. That is, a piece is missing. (Might this be a retained cud?)

My theory is when the planchet was being punched, it was clipped, but, didn't follow down all the way, leaving a partial incomplete blank..PLUS the whole blank, as it is the same diamter as a normal 5c...it's a complex coin, that's all I know!...Mike Diamond needs to see it.

Its not a clip. It looks like damage. The condition of the coin is pretty bad, which leans me towards damage. PMD.
The rim shows that it was smashed or hit by how its squeezed and indented at the damaged area.

i vote for PMD. it looks like the poor nickel got wedged into something to cause that indent. It looks like in the picture over near "GOD WE" where a oppposite side dent is. :~

I agree with PMD and getting wedged into something that caused the metal to be "scooted" back on both sided. I believe Jason and snowman has the assessment correct.
