Hey Pat,
The 4th addition Volume II came out in late 2006. I know that they were changing there numbering system, but havn't seen anything on a new release as of yet... I could very well be wrong though...
I have not seen anything, but I can't wait to get it....

No, not yet. You got my hopes up though when I read the title of this thread. I thought for a second it may have come out.

Hi Guys, Here's an excert from Whitman Publishing about "The Cherrypickers Guide" 4th edition volume 2 covering half-dimes to modern commems. Happy Hunting!
"The book will debut at the American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money in Denver this August. In the meantime, here are some exclusive sneak peeks at the Cherrypickers’ Guide. (Shhh... don’t tell the other guy...)"

I don't know if this is the new version of the Cherrypicker's-Guide or something else - but I'll mention that Amazon.com has a "Cherrypickers-Guide" hardcover available for pre-order with a publish date of December 2008.
I did a search on LCR and can't find another thread talking about the CPG, so if this old news or incorrect - sorry.

As eaxtellcoin mentioned, The Cherry Pickers Guide, 4th Edition, Volume II that covers half dimes through modern dollars plus gold and commems has been out since August 2006. I have had the Hardcover edition autographed by the authors since then. There is a Table in the back of the book (Appendix K) that lists all of the old FS numbers and cross references them to the new numbers.

I probably should have mentioned that Amazon.com noted it was a 5th edition which implies that it is not the Vol. 2 from 2006 rather something new... or I guess just some sort of crazy mistake on the part of Amazon.com.
I was hesitant to pre-order it without asking other variety enthusiasts what they thought. So as it stands there's one yea and one nae.

I just saw that too. If it's the 5th Edition, it would be brand new and probably encompass the half cents through Jefferson Nickels again. The last CPG issued was the 4th Edition, Volume 2 as stated above. I would be hesitant to pre-order this book because of the many problems encountered trying to get the last issue out in 2006. The Amazon pre-order has the specifics I would be looking for including the ISBN number, but I would rather wait until it is being shipped before spending the money.

Does Amazon bill you before the ship the product?
I'll post a photo of the book when it arrives...

No they do not and you can cancel your order at anytime prior to the book being shipped. They will also notify you on order not being shipped on time and re-verify that you still want to order. I have pre-order from them on many occasions, with no problems.
