I bought a box several months ago for a modest premium then I got a box at the bank for face value. How much are they asking for them on eBay now?

anywhere from 50.00- 70.00 for a 25.00 box. no banks around here have them. ive sorted through 100 rolls from 2 differant banks to find only 1 single 2008 cent. just cant believe they are that hard to get. thanks for replying. Joe ps. if you run across any extra boxes ,please let me know

you would never know how much i would appreciate that. i never thought getting a box of p-d would be this much of a pain. i went to, and called all the banks in my area. i called the us mint, philly and denver mints and the federal reserve. no anwsers to where to get them.

When I see them I will let you know. If you still need them we can work it out. If not, no problem.

Actually I have an extra box of 2008 P I'm trying to get rid of, you can have it for face plus shipping- probably take a $10 flat rate box. Here's a picture.

They'll be on their way today. I can't believe that a quick check of eBay shows boxes routinely selling for $50 each, just as mentioned. Unbelievable.

Found another new box at the local bank and thought "what the heck":

No problem! Not D's, though, all we get in Maine are Phillies.

Do you think $10 will cover the shipping. Those things are heavy.

i dont kmow how much shipping is for a box. i think on ebay thats seems to be the case. they are heavy. i get 50 rolls at a time at the bank and their in a little tray like box bottom of some kind which all but colapses by the time i get home. you could ask agcollector.

50 rolls typically weighs around 14 pounds (depending on how many are zinc versus copper cents), but the beauty of a flat rate box is that as long as what you're shipping fits inside 11"x8.5"x5.5", you can send up to 70 (!) pounds for $10. I've shipped up to 34 pounds in one box myself; it's a really good deal.

I just found this out recently, but the flat rate priority envelope is a good deal at $5 for as much as you can fit in- I've sent 12 rolls (about 4 pounds) that way too.

if you talk to your local bank they get their penny from a vault delivery, very few to none now roll their own penny, you have to fine a local deleivery service that will sell to public, ie brinks, fargo who ever in your area...i use my credit union that i do banking with and they will order me a box (25.00) or bag 50.00 when they order money for the bank..richard
