I saw this 1962 Canadian cent on E-bay and had a feeling that it was one of the rare forms of die clashes. The denticles from the edge of the die were clashed in between the lobes of the maple leaf.
After receiving the coin on Saturday, my suspicions were confirmed. This is the first MAD die clash on a foreign coin and also the earliest known example of this type clash. It is now listed on MADdieclashes.com as MDC-1c-1962-01(CA)
