I found these two 1979-Ds in the same roll. The mint marks are not in the same exact spot but the Ds have a similar notch, are these RPMs.

This i believe is caused by a broken punch. Not an RPM. It is very common on the 1979D.
My opinion only.

Steven is correct. All of these mintmarks were made with a broken punch.
