I mean, really, it looks like a woody! Did they even make cupro-nickel planchets back in 1915?

That's really interesting- because of the copper streaks, I wonder if it's an improper alloy mix? Was the mint striking coins for other countries in 1915?

There is a 41 listed on the LCR that has the same appearance as this does... Really interesting... I wonder if the reg number checks out!!!

Looks more then a woody. Theres more of a nickel color in that then different shades of copper. Beautiful coin. We struck centavos in the US mint but not sure in 1915. Nice coin but Im not sure that price is!!

I found that 1915 was the first year of coinage so Im guessing there was alot of mistakes.

Thanks for including that Pat, very interesting. Maybe the price isn't as far off as it seemed.

Whoa- Did anyone else realize that these are 2 different coins? Listed as unique in the second link, I wonder if David Lawrence is aware that his is regarded as a pattern by some?
