It is really not funny to a serious collector just wanting answers. Photos of your coin would help, but I believe it may be either a filled die (grease/crud filling in the devices on the die), or that a portion of the die was abraded to remove evidence of another anomaly (clash or dent etc.)

I would agree it certainly has the sound of a classic struck through (grease) filled die - which occurs when a thick gunk clogs parts of the incuse design and it appears to be missing on the struck coin. And pictures would help. Such an error, while somewhat common, can still command a small $1-4 premium on eBay.

It looks like it was truck through grease. That's a really cool find, though. Congrats! My best struck through grease I have just took the last 2 digits of the date away...

thanks for the comments . i was given a box of wheat pennies a couple days ago and i have found about 50 of them have some sort of error, my left eye started twitching after looking thru all of them and i thought maybe i need a magnifying glass.lol . but man this is fun stuff and so very interesting to boot. to think all the years ive wasted not looking at my change. i hope the dollar stays together long enuf for me to enjoy this, or cash in on it. any way thanks again and ill be posting more photos of the others i found. peace to all, and laugh once a day at least to live longer.

If you can get a 30x loupe... That will really bring the details closer... Also if possible try to get a closer pic of the area in question along with the obverse and reverse pic... This will help the pros in identifying known errors and varieties!!!
