Easy to tell this one hasn't been out in a while. Check out the cob webs:LOL_Hair:
Did you find that in a roll of pennies? I often find dimes in penny rolls, but never a silver one.

Not in a roll of cents but in a book of mercs I picked up. I put it back in the book without wiping off the webs. They have been there a while might as well stay a while longer:tinysmile_hmm_t:
The book with 66 average circ. coins cost me $21.50, no keys dates:(
Was this a good price???

Its a steal. Even though silver is down recently, silver dimes are worth almost 9 times face value, just for melt. Mercs are generally worth a little premium above that anywhere.

That sounds great maybe I didn't get hurt too bad on this one either. Got this book at the same place for $18.00. It has what looks like may be average circ. coins place correctly according to date and mint 1937 to 1947 with the exception of the bottom 4 on the 3rd page they are 1918S, 1928S, 1934 and 1935. Total 24 coins. I don't really do silver much but took a chance.

You're killing me! Even 24 common date silver halves sell for over $100! If there's anything like this left where you bought it, go back and get as much as you can!

Looks like I did get a pretty good deal:). I got all they had 11 books and some loose coins. Not all silver some was clad like roseys '46 to date with a few BUs and 15 clad proofs. That set cost me $20.00. One lincoln cent in the whole batch, 1941. Thanks for the responses, I feel much better about the buy now.

So now that it's all purchased, can you tell us what kind of store it was?

From a co-worker. He knew that I collected. I made a quick figure of what I would pay for each book and offered a total of $220. that he accepted.

Christmas came early this year Steven. Nice find.
About 2 years ago a fella sold me tubes of wheat cents 1909 thru 1952 at 2.5 cents each. He had 21 1909P-VDB's in one tube. 3 went for grading and came back 63RB and 64RB and 65RD. The rest of the coins were alot of "S" mint marks. No RPM's or Doubled Dies. 3 Tubes of 43's all covered in dry rust powder. That's about all of a good deal. Joe

I think I would rather have had a bucket of wheats. I don't have a lot of interest in silver.

I'm not sure what deal you mean- I wasn't suggesting copper for silver "pound for pound"; what is a metal IRS?
