OK, just one more. I found this one a few months ago from a Bank of Amarica box.

It could indeed be missing it's copper plating which would make it a desirable error. There are cases where the copper has been chemically removed.

Bob is right if its copper less its a keeper!
but if its has been over dip or anything like that its a cull or 1 cents.

It's hard to tell after it's been circulated for a while. I find alot of these but never know to keep them or not. I still don't know a sure fire way to know. Bob, is there a way?

General Rules for De-Plated Lincolns: Courtesy of Fred Weinberg
1. If the Cent is real bright and shiny, it's probably been re-plated.
2. If the Cent is dark, dull, and grey, it's been de-plated.
3. A Genuine un-plated Zinc Cent should have original luster, and the surfaces should not fit into a description like #1 or #2 above.
Below is pic's of a Lincoln Cent struck on an un-plated Planchet, Graded MS 63 by NGC Wgt 2.4 GR. This is the best on the Pictures I can do.:tinysmile_hmm_t2:

Thanks everyone. So far I've found three zinc Lincolns. The 83 has been looked at by an expert and declaired authentic. The 94 I just found a few days I suspect to be de-coppered. I also have a 95, which I suspect to be coated.
