Just curious, but does anyone over here bother to report these things? eBay actually will remove them.

I have had a mixed experience with reporting altered coins. Sometimes they get pulled, other times they are not and I get a weird response from the eBay support staff.

I am not sure just what you are reporting, but when I report such obvious coins, at least 90% go away. I am not sure what your "weird response" is, but lately all I get is
Thank you for writing eBay to report these potentially violating
listings to us.

I have thoroughly investigated your report, and have confirmed that the
items were in violation of eBay policy. As such, I have removed the
listings from the eBay site.

Again, thank you for your report. We appreciate your help in keeping
eBay a safe and reputable forum to conduct business.
although counterfeits have slightly different wording.

I had an obvious '55 DDO fake that I could not get pulled about a year and a half ago. Here is what they said (with no follow up):

Dear eBay Member,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to suspicious coin listings.

Because eBay does not employ or train its Trust & Safety Customer
Support Representatives to be experts in the area of coins and currency,
we rely on expert opinions from knowledgeable people as well as reliable
third party organizations.

Your report will be reviewed by a group of members that comprise a
community watch group for coin auctions. They then confer amongst
themselves and either agree or disagree that the listings are
problematic. If it is agreed that a listing(s) is fraudulent or
improperly described, the listing(s) is then forwarded to eBay Trust and
Safety for removal.

Wow, I've reported plenty and never gotten a response but the listings were removed..either I'm on the ignore list or they take my word for it. I have won two cases against counterfeit sellers for a total of $1400...so I'm probably ignored.

Try reporting them here; http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactUs&wftype=213a7651ffe03d58&bcrumb=1f4e8befdb153500906ab94c4f0a40110c35e15717c cf7396bb93a5cca697e7c29f834c3fcf1346ecf7d5389cefb4 070f474323c3a5fc64739b2bffb65bbe5c428b3d0b11173f9f be17ca9626154d8c91a0dac16a0481303da9085dee5225ec0&clk_rvr_id=246669904464&subject=1bebaaaf5a42a226871a48fcc33a46b6&rcode=c7d8e9c4b298eff616b2159d03a4ea35

An, yes, that is the response I usually get when I report counterfeits, but they also usually go away. Particularly with counterfeit, it seems that the more reports they receive, the more likely they are to pull it.

If anyone is interested, the listing now says;
This listing (270796206012) has been removed, or this item is not available.
eBay has pulled the auction.
