The 1974's are tough ones. I think that you would have to match up the markers before being sure. Maybe Bob can help here.

Thats what i think too. 74 is hard to tell because of the large date and thick lettering.

You guys are all way ahead of me. It is difficult to tell with the large date 1974 coins. In this case, I do believe it is a DDO. The 9 of the date shows the type of extra thickness I would associate with a class 6 DDO versus the standard thicker large date digit. Markers could verify if it is die -001 or not. However, it is not impossible that it could be a new one. Most people find it very difficult with the large dates that they don't try to figure it out at all.

I can say the last pic,Of the original thread, looks like there may be notching on the left side of the U. Hard tellin from the pic

The 9 of the date from your picture looks normal for the large date. What I look for when attributing these is a significant thickening of the tail of the 9 AFTER it starts its curve downward. It can be very subtle, but if you compare your pic with the one below, I think you can see the difference. As I said earlier...these things drive some folks absolutely nuts!
