This coin is tough to find in uncirculated grades. However, this one is ugly. What do you think it is worth???

IMO...I would like a closer look of the error (both sides) AND!...I would buy at least $150 less.

His price is about right. The coin looks to be RB and not RD.

This is a really hard one to find. I found an example in 2009 that I pulled out of circulation that graded out MS62 RB (ANACS). I have never seen another example from circulation.

I posted it here:

Nice AU's go for $150-175. This one is a 63RD, but it has a nasty blemish in the center of the coin. Very distracting. I would pass entirely and would venture a guess that someone would pony up between $250-300. Believe it or not, these have become a lot easier to find. Even in 64-65rd (if you have the $$.)

In May I sold a -63 RB (like this one would be if it were re-submitted) for $320 (http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=3060&lot=1092) I was stingy with the reserve price because I overpaid for it, but got lucky in selling it. I've seen similar peices sell in the $250 to $280 range. Also had a PCGS-62 RB sell on eBay about 2 years ago for $120! I was so sad . This coin, slabbed as a full red example, he may well get over $300 for it, but not $450.

If it means anything I picked up a MS62RB for $110 on eBay about a year ago. Some day I will upgrade...

If you ever upgrade, let me know and I will make an offer on yours. I need to upgrade my AU53.

Hi, new to site. And very confused. I looked at the coin you sold on teletrade and for the life of me, cannot see where its double died unless because it graded by PCGS, its taken for granted that it is. Can you just explain a little about how that works. I have several coins that seem to be very similar and need to understand what I need to be seeing. Sorry if not phrasing correctly.

Correct wording is a: Doubled Die:

Here is a link to a coin I posted back in 2009 and is the same variety as being talked about in this Thread. Hope this helps.

http://www.lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4708 You can see the doubling on the Obverse on this one.

Definitely see it on the obverse. On pic three you have the date shown. Is this to just show the date of coin or is their some doubling there also. I do not see any looking at this photo. Thanks for the help.

If you look close you will see notching at the bottom of the "9" and the "7" and also a separation Line on the upper crossbar portion of the "7" (It looks like a split in the crossbar).

I see it, thanks.

Time to get all those rolls out and start examining again. Really appreciate pointing the notching out.
