Hey Everyone! Each year I sell off one of my buddy's annual roll accumulations. He is STRICTLY an RPM guy- I love his rolls because he doesn't ever search for Doubled Dies!! Furthermore, he's nearing his 80s, so I often find really decent RPMs he's overlooked. I'm telling you all this because I can't call these rolls "unsearched" but can personally tell you that they've been one of my best sources for cherrypicking.
Here's how this will work: There's far too many rolls for me to search, it's my job to liquidate them. Any dates listed I will promise you have not been searched by myself or Bob for doubled dies. Take the fact that you may find additional die varieties simply as "icing on the cake". These are all Choice to Gem BU rolls, full red, not like some of the garbage you'll find on eBay. My goal is to sell in bulk, quantity purchases get a better per-roll price. Shipping and payment info is below. Contact me for pricing on each date. Prices will be based in relation to Greysheet (Coin Dealer Newsletter) prices.
Here are the dates available and quantities. DON'T PONDER TOO LONG, as I am listing these on eBay and they sell quickly when offered in quantity.

Hi
How much per roll?
Roger

Depends on the date Roger- I didn't have a lot of time when I put up the post- I've been quoting members as they've asked. The majority of the copper memorial rolls are under $2, the wheats vary from under $7 for a '58-D roll on up depending on the date.
I'll try to get complete pricing for each date up later this week.

I would be interested in the ones from 1944-68 depending on price points. These are good years for the coins i collect

Hi BJ!
I just talked to my friend yesterday about the '60-D SD rolls- I think they're seriously overpriced by GS pricing- so does he and decided to take a little off of the price, so I can offer them at straight Greysheed Bid price of $4.50. And yes- these are indeed unsearched for all the bizarre clashes for the year, tempting, but I've got waaaay too much to pick through as it is. All yours if you'd like. -CW.

I just received a lot of these rolls from Chris, and wanted to attest to the fact that they are what he says. So far I searched the first roll of 1956-Ds and found three different tilted RPMs, one of which was also a class 4 doubled eyelid, and I also found a cool obverse clash. The roll was a solid GEM roll with quite a few that would go 66 and one that is a candidate for 67.
You can pay me now Chris. :LOL_Hair:

Hi, a quick question. Since your friend only searches for RPMs, does that mean that he doesn't search the P rolls?
liveandievarieties
02-03-2012, 09:07 PM
That's exactly what it means. And I don't look at anything that someone else is buying. I have a giant pile of stuff to get through and am not making great headway.

Sorry, one more question. Are the coins still in their original roll, or in plastic coin tubes?

The rolls are all placed in plastic tubes, he'll even open the philly OBW rolls just to put them in a tube. Not everything he's got has come from OBWs, some are also purchased as regular BU rolls. He buys every unc cent roll in the entire city, doesn't matter what it is, keeps his supply and contacts coming to him.
I got my rolls last night and can't wait to get into them. Chris you are great! He put together
a sampler for me of different errors and varieties. What a learning tool. The only thing better than Coops and Jason's pictures pictures are having specimens in hand! I have a bunch now. It was like like Christmas opening that box up. I was going to hold off sorting the rolls until I finished what I had already had sorted from bank boxes. But my hands keep quivering and grabbing Chris's roll.s :LOL_Hair: Thanks again Chris!

This one is for Chris : Do you think I'll be able to find anything like a MS66 or 67 for 1962D & 63D. I am interested in these two dates.

Lol, an MS67 '63-D?? You gotta be pulling my leg. I've slabbed dozens of '63-Ds and never been able to get a grade above MS-64. There aren't any slabbed PCGS examples of that coin in MS67 and an MS66 will sell for over $600!
This from the PCGS website, it sums up the date well and saves me a lot of typing(!):
The 1963-D Lincoln cent is the toughest Lincoln cent from 1930 to date to find in MS66 Red condition, even tougher then the 1931-S in MS66 Red! The second toughest Lincoln cent in MS66 Red after 1930, is the 1962-D and with the 1973-S being the third toughest in MS66 grades.
Most 1963-D Lincoln cents are found with nicks, specks, spots and scratches. They are also very weakly struck and are very dull and lack luster in their appearance. A few coins can be found with some decent luster but more than likely, the coin will be plagued by one of the other aforementioned defects.
Years after I searched the original bags, I decided to go on a quest and started buying up hundreds of original rolls of this date and mint mark setting a $6 budget for each roll, or less if I could find them cheaper. I did this for about four years, as I just couldn’t stand the fact that I never found an MS66 but I strongly believed there was still some out there.
Many times, I would stay up until three in the morning searching through these original rolls trying to find nice examples. I always felt I was getting closer and closer, since by that time, I was able to find some coins that appeared to be MS65.
A couple of more months went by of searching rolls, when I finally hit the mother load. I found a nice original roll which contained several coins which still had grease from when the coins were originally struck. More than likely, this is what protected the coins when they were being sorted, shipped and handled from the Mint and to the Federal Reserve and even into the canvas bags, which eventually made it into rolls and into circulation.
Some of the coins that I found in that roll had a rich nice dark mahogany red toning on them, which made them stand out just because of the color itself. Most of the coins also displayed strong reflective and eye appealing luster.
In that roll, I found some of the nicest 1963-D Lincoln cents that I have ever seen and probably one of them was close to being an MS67. From that roll, I sold eight coins as MS66 Red for over $625 each, with the possible MS67 selling for over $900. I netted about $5,500 because of that one roll. However, I did lose a significant amount of money on all the bags and rolls that I originally paid a premium for. Eventually, I then placed the searched coins back in paper rolls and sold them as BU coins.
After all the time I spent purchasing, searching and selling the coins, I did end up making a significant amount of money. But to me, the 1963-D Lincoln cent is a very special coin to me personally. And mostly because I spent so much of my time searching through them, not just because I was able to make money from my venture."
Additionally Lucien, you've gotta spend years studying grading to even know what might pass for that high grade- I mean it, not in general, just for this year alone. Each year has it's own individual characteristics. What would pass as an MS65 for a '55-S would cause a '63D to get an MS-67 grade. It's complicated, but I'd hate to see you throw a ton of money down the drain.

MS66 and 67 are a far reach but I got some 62D from Chris that might be in the running. Maybe not 67 but very close. These coins are exactly whats he says they are. I still have about 15 rolls that I havent touched from him. Maybe Ill see them before summer. Work sucks when you dont have any, but sucks when you have too much too...

Hey,
Just a quick question. I was browsing through your stock and found that the 1983-D rolls cost $19. According to coppercoin's site, there's really not that much for that date. What's so special about it? (Sorry to be blunt, but just was wondering why this roll costs more than the 1971-P which might contain one of the BIG DD's :LOL_Hair:)
Thanks!
