View Full Version : 1957 D mintmark 1MM-017

What we have here is a coin that doesn't know what it wants to be.
The mint mark does have split serifs top and bottom, shows a bit of a southward or northward spread, depending whether it is upside down or right side up. The reverse has what will probably be said is machine doubling.
I haven't been able to match this coin up to any in The RPM book, or on coppercoins.com .
Thanks for looking, and please offer ideas about how you think it might be classified.

1MM-017 or maybe 030 from the MM. Can you get some pix of some markers? That doubling is MD.

Well, lo and behold, I finally found something that might tie the MM 017 to the coin I posted.
This is the only one I could find that looks similar, do you think it is enough?

Yea..is that the same coin? By the looks of the other markings im goin to say yes. If so. Its for sure the 1MM-017
