i don't know if i found these in lincoln searching or if it was part of a foreign coin lot i got. there is supposed to be a "blunted" 7 variety for canada cents is this it? what does blunted mean anyway?
also there were extra leaves place there because some coins were minted in 1948.

Steven:
Great Link for Canada coins - I will recheck my own - I always thought it was the top of the 7 - one is pointed and one is blunt - i am always learning. The one Canada small cent that can be found is the 1985 pointed 5 - this coin is going up in price with ms examples in the $50-100 range and circs in the $20's. I was lucky and got one from ebay - AU for just $7.00.
Thanks again
Roger

i don't see the link...
but i found out there are 3 different varieties for 1947.
-1947 with out extra leaf (all blunt 7's)
-1947 with extra leaf next to 7 (these were minted in 1948) they did not have 1948 dies until the end of the year so 1948 is a key date.
-1947 with extra leaf blunt 7 (most scarce) but i don't think it is extremely rare.
here's some more pics.

look at the picture in this link - it has the pointed seven. It only exists on the maple leaf coins . They signified the independance of India from England.
