I found 15 of these 1960 P cents in just a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, they are all large dates, but they are in very nice condition.

Nice condition. Did you find them in rolls?

Yes. I think I found them all in about 8 consecutive rolls. I found one in the first roll and threw it back in the "recycle bin". But when I found 2 in the very next roll, I retrieved the first one to compare. Then every roll after that had 1, 2 or 3 in them. It was pretty weird.

I also found a 1968-S and a 1970-S (LD) that is in the same condition as these 1960's.

That has happened many times with us - the latest has been 1964P's and 1968P's.
1968-s continue at least 1 or 2 a box (unc's). I believe they are either broken rolls or old bags some where that got in the sytem. If they were from a collection or jar there would probably be other unc's,etc from the era - we found a gang of 1959-1965 canadian cents once with a bunch of 1967's.
Thank
Roger

Seems to me for some reason the 1960 holds up really well. Im on a good run of 60-early 80s all in great shape, but not a thing to write home about. Great big dry spell.:tinysmile_cry_t3:

I purchased today and got 1959 as a change ... I was waiting for this particular coin thru so many rolls !!!

I have a bag of 1964-P cents ($50.00) that I purchased for $50.00 several years ago. When I need filler coins to make a .50C roll (where I took coins out of searching rolls), I use the brand new (uncirculated) 1964-P's and replace the ones I kept out of the original searched roll. Sometimes I wind up putting 6-8 coins in a roll to return the box or rolls of coins back to the bank. Sometimes I have 2-3 coins in every other roll. That's partially how older uncirculated coins get into bank rolls, others simply roll up uncirculated coins to get rid of the change not knowing what they have. It's fun and someone else gets to keep older coins when they are found. By the way those are some nice looking coins.

I stand corrected. I just found a 71d 1MM-002. Nothing big, but a taste.

How would you grade them?

That is hard to determine from the angle of the pictures and so far away. I would proably say MS 61-63 on some and AU55-58 on some. That is my opionion w/out having them in hand to see. Still a nice find for circulated cents.
