This is a hard one to locate and when you do you need to know what your looking for.

:tinysmile_hmm_t:This has a nice spread on the "4" and the "7" of the date. I believe this is the same one as 1947S-1DO-001 on the CC site. They have no photos nor Wexler listing number. Maybe Bob can shed some daylight on this one.

You are absolutely correct on your attribution Joe. The one I have suffers from the same thing your 1980 DDO does...rolling machine damage. If possible, and when and if you have a few coins to send, I would like to photograph yours and add it to the CC site.

Just for clarification: I am not one who can not attribute DDO coins. What are we seeing in Joe's coin. This isn't for my benefit only.

Hi David,
Apparently it is the line nearly on the edge of the right side of the 4 and 7.
I think I see minor mechanical doubling inside the top and bottom curve of the S mintmark.
I am having trouble with some of these kind of doubled dies. Most of my trouble is trying to determine what the difference between mechanical/strike doubling and what is actual Doubled Dies. Some of the ones I have seen in books and such, look the same to me.
We just gotta keep asking questions... and most of all, find an example we can call our own!

Jean is absolutely correct David. You can just barely see it on Joe's picture. This one is difficult to attribute when the coin is not a BU example as any wear at all seems to distort or obliterate the light separation lines on the 47 of the date.

It's ready to go. Thanks about the album. PAT!!! will have to give me some more room or I will have to delete some of the Pictures before I post more. I still have plenty to photograph:tinysmile_classes_t Especially on some really nice errors and more varieties also.
