 Going thru my old inventory (Tubes of Wheat Cents) today I found this and let it soak for about 4 hours in GOO GONE!
I don't remember how long ago I picked this up or where but it's a nice to have, to go with it's brother (PCGS 1909 VDB DDO FS-1102 MS-63RB ) that I acquired last week.

This will not grade as high but off to ANACS it will go.

ya know...i've a 09 vdb ddo find i was reluctant to make notice of but maybe i should here.
the 1909 vdb is a coin i buy with hopes of that ddo or a matte proof in hiding being found.
so a $17. 1909 vdb arrives from a image-less auction and sure enough it was...the ddo #1...every bit of a 65 rd or r/b but it had a spot i was assured "ncs" could remove

in faith i listened only to have a pink coin returnd from "ncs"...yeah there's many learning curves and maybe...someone will learn with me on that note

so yeah i've an 09 vdb ddo to include here rather then hid it's fact's...the other party i gave it too was happy even if it was pink...just not me...it beheld grief everytime i looked at it

Teddy, don't feel bad about such a transaction.
If I did the same I would certainly be out of this hobby in a flash!
I haven't sent a coin to 'ncs' for certification or grading, so I am not certain how strict they are for qualifying coins.
Now that you are on this super nice forum you have the opportunity to show our experts the coin before you make the decision about spending the dollars to have it certified.
Take comfort in the fact that your friend now has a coin they probably would not have been able to find that readily.
The fun is in the hunting, the reward is in the finding, and the pride is in the sharing.

Hi:
I got to go thru all the wheat cents I have on a rainy day. Especially 1917 and 1936.
Great find
Roger

I had not been through my Wheats in about 5-6 years and still have not gone thru all the tubes I have.

Coin is on it's way back and it Graded out at EF-40. :D Not bad for soaking in Goo Gone for 4 hours and being in a tube for (?????????) Years. Just thought I would give you an update.

Coin arrived a few minutes ago from the graders and here are the followup Pic's.
Not bad for sitting around in a tube for a few years and finding out that you had a DDO.
