I know I hit 1500 posts the other night, at exactly the same time I saw I'd been thanked 300 times, I recall it specifically because my post was something rather silly, I remember thinking I should have saved it for something more significant.

Now it shows that I have 1462 posts, any ideas how that's possible? :squigglemouth:

Chris, I thought you said you were coming up on 1500 posts...take a look at the ddr giveaway you posted...my memory isn't the greatest....on the other hand, are you 40 yet ? Things like this happen more frequently when you reach that age:LOL_Hair:

I don't think it is possible to lose 40 or 50 posts Chris. Are you sure it was 1500, and not 1400? I went back and looked at all the stats, and it too states you are at 1462.

Hey Chris, it shouldn't be possible! You were definitely at 1500+, not imagining it. Just chiming in to let you know you're not crazy.

EDIT: @Wendell- LOL! It wouldn't surprise is Anonymous found their way in here. From their track record, it seems they don't have anything better to do than harass a penny forum :LOL_Hair:

Literally, like 2 or 3 posts away. I hit it that night, that was Tuesday. I'm not losing it yet, only 34!

He was at 1493. I remember because we had both achieved the 1000th post in and around the same time. When I was reading he 1500th giveaway post, I noticed how much more I yap then he does (go figure, it must be a woman thing :angel: ) and remember how close he was to 1500

If there is one thing I remember, its numbers and dates, (which why Barclay gave up arguing about such things with me! :LOL_Hair:)

If this is the case, perhaps Brad or someone pruned the old posts, or there is a cron job running in the background to do so. That would be the most plausible explanation to me (having built and administrated many forums)

Wouldn't that affect everybody ? And especially those with older posts ? Chris only joined in March of this year.

I remember Chris being closer to 1500 also... Maybe some of his posts got deleted and the numbers adjusted!!!

I have no idea how pruning works from forum to forum. Alot of administrators adjust pruning to their own categories... i.e., delete posts with fewer than X views, delete threadless topics, etc. The possibilities are endless. I dunno, I was just throwing it out there. Seemed like a likely explanation for "disappearing" posts. *shrug*

I'm just doing a test. I'm at 1641. Now when I'm done this post I should be at 1642. I will then delete my post and see where my number goes, up, down or nowhere. Then I will post again.

Couldn't have been Wednesday- I met up with Chugly the moment I got home and he worked on installing my Amscope software (to no avail- I hate windows 7!!). John even made reference to that post, and he left work and drove straight to my place, he couldn't have seen it if it were Wednesday that I posted it. Was Tuesday that I posted the giveaway, was the only day I had forum time in the evening. Very weird. One this one subject, I know I'm not crazy!
