Hi Everyone,
Does anyone here know about American Silver Eagle error coins?
Or, does anyone know someone who can evaluate such a coin?
I am posting a few pictures of my 2007 ASE which has some errors.
More pictures available if you want to see them.
Thanks,
JeanK

Wow Jason! You can see notching? I didn't think the pictures were that good.
Now what?
If this is truly a die doubled ASE, then where can I get it attributed?
Arrgh! I should never have use a 15x to check it over...:) It would have saved me all this trouble.

Yep, Jason, you are seeing double... I think it is because nearly the entire coin obverse and reverse are doubled.
I am going to put it under the QX5 and see if I can find any notching.
I will get back to you..
Oh, and don't worry, I am seeing double too.

Jean, is that a bullion coin or one of the collector version with the West Point mint mark?

jean have one of these graded by pcgs and ngc both ms-70 with rev 07 i have not seen any outher errors noted for this coin, i checked my and it has the same type of marks with white light, may just be the way were looking at them. also amac44 said his 07 looks the same and that is because this some of the 08 has the 07 rev and that the error that has been graded so far...richard

David, as far as I can tell there is no mint mark on it. THAT's IT!
Now, why didn't I think of that?
Egads, to think I have had everyone working so hard to help me with this.
So sorry folks. At least this one won't go back in the recycle bin.
Thanks David, I appreciate your question!
The information has been sitting here right beside me in my Red Book all the time.
Now we can proceed to other more important subjects.

Its is machine doubling, scarce on bullion coins and proofs, but still machine doubling.

So, if it is scarce on either bullion and proofs, does that make it worth more than the silver content?
Yeh, I know, not really.
Thanks BJ, it was worth a try.
