A 1969-D Lincoln cent Graded MS-63 RB.

This coin exhibits a Rare Double Incomplete Punch.
The incomplete punches happen during the set up operation process to make blanks for coins.

The set up and adjustment operation involves about 6 feet of the strip which will leave varying degrees of circular dents and punched holes.

After the set up operation is correct the test strip is supposed to be withdrawn and cut off and destroyed or sent back to the supplier, and a new strip is inserted to start making blanks.
However less experienced mint workers have been known to withdraw the leading edge of the strip with partial punches backward through the stopped press.

The defective section of the strip is now allowed to run through the press at start up and the partly punched section will be used to make new blanks and on down the line to make error coins.

I see what were saying about mine now. If mine was on the back too. It sure looks like that without the Rev marking!!..It has to be that but maybe a lighter punch?

Yes it could be a lighter punch, however even the book says it would be highly suspect without the reverse marking from the stationary punch. I would put it in a 2x2 and keep it.
