I found this earlier this evening. I really don't know what to make of it due to the fact that the devices are not consistent with being struck thru debris. If you notice that the design is stronger on some parts of the Obverse/Reverse of the coin.

I would like to have readers input on this one.

A. Struck thru grease or debris on both sides?.

B. Die Adjustment Strike?

I have sent up close and personal photos of Lincoln to Mr. Mike Diamond for his response as I said I am not sure.

I hope answer B is the correct one.
Click onto photos for larger pic when it loads up. Thanks Everyone.

Mike Diamond determined that the coin was struck thru debris/grease on both sides.

First one I have ever found that was struck thru on both sides so it goes to my goody box. Proably grease, dirt, oil, metal tidbits etc. Interesting though!!!!!

For a coin that bad it has a lot of interesting anomalies. I see MDD on the One Cent,
and do I see trails on E Pluribus?
