This is my newest acquisition.
This is a 1999 Lincoln that has been graded MS-66 Red.
It is a FLIPOVER, DOUBLE STRUCK IN COLLAR Lincoln. The coin shows alot of the design elements from the opposite sides on the Reverse and the Obverse.
If you look closely you can make out the Memorial from the Reverse going from the top to bottom of the Lincoln bust.
Both the Obverse and Reverse have the full date of the coin.
I have provided close up pictures of some of the design and numeral elements that can be seen on both the obverse and reverse.

Wait until I do post for all the other denominations and the neat errors they have.

If it is the same weight then it is proably a "Spooned" coin. Someone used a heavy duty spoon on the edges to try and make a ring out of the 50C piece. You keep working on the edges until you get it to the width and the diameter size you want then drill out the center and it makes a nice ring. When I was a kid we used to do it on quarters. It takes a long time.:(
The reeded edge of a coin are applied when the coin is struck and the only other way it would not be struck on the edge is if it were a "die Trial". ie: setting up the pressure of the presses (flywheel) type and running the press until the striking pressure is correct. In that case the obv/rev of the coin would also be very weakly struck.:) That's about as much as I can give you without seeing the coin.
