Does anyone have any idea if this 70S is an example of a Class VII modified hub doubling?
Jean
It is one of the many types known for that date and is in my files and will be illustrated in upcoming Vol. II. I'm not sure if all attributer's still classify this a VII Modified Hub Doubling though. Some may have re-classed to another type. But it is a genuine DDO.
Nice find Jean!

YIPPEE!!!
I thought it looks a bit like the picture I see in my Authoritative Reference book by John Wexler and Kevin Flynn.
I will be watching for a new classification number.
YAHOO!

While CONECA list this die as a Class VII, I do prefer Coppercoins listing of it as a Class VIII, tilted hub doubling. It does seem to be a better fit. I am not to sure what John Wexler classifies this die as.

Ohmigosh BJ, I didn't even see the one on CC. My bad.
I will get right over there and try again.
Thanks for reminding me...
Joe, I am trying really hard to send some roll luck your way but I am having trouble sharing lately... :)
Thanks Roger. I am trying to be more like you everyday...

Checked it against CC and have come to the same conclusion as BJ.
I will name it 1970S-1DO-007 Class 8.
Thanks again everyone.
