When I was searching those home-wrapped rolls a few days ago that had the 1996 1c Wide AM, in the group of rolls was this 2001 cent. Since I had to take photos of the 1996, so at the same time I took a set of photos with this one as well to document in my "C" files. It's now assigned as 2001 1c CDDR-008. I have seen quite a few that exhibit doubling of both statue's knees to the north. But, this is the first one that I have seen the opposite. Instead of the knees, it exhibits doubling of both statue's feet to the south. Though generally speaking it's a minor DDR, but I still feel a collectible variety. I thought I would share with you in case you want to be on the lookout for a specimen.

As always ... Good Hunting!!!

Thanks Billy, it is always great to have more reference material available for comparisons.
That is a nice coin even if you say it is just a minor league example.

Thanks Jean. I believe that even minor one's deserve our love and attention.

Egads! Another gem from DVN and Billy. You have some serious coin Kharma, and to be sure, Heaven will not be paved with gold, but instead with all the variety pennies you have discovered! I hope I find the 2001, because I just chuckled at how neat those extra feet looked. Cool find, but nothing will ever be as good as the 1996 wide AM, I suspect...
Keep up the good work, you are gonna be famous in coin circles, and as well regarded as all the other attributers who came before.

Oh no! Bummer! Why did you put it back into the pile?

It is a Bummer Billy. I saw what I thought was doubling, but since I'm not well versed on reverse doubling I took it as MD. It is a good thing that I haven't and I stress haven't rolled anything to put back into circulation. I'm sure I will have a good time looking for this one.

:LOL_Hair: That is a neat description!

There are so many variations of doubled statue parts and columns. It's mind-boggling. I'm pretty sure Bob can attest to that. But, I still get a kick out of them. To each his/her own. As long as you're having fun ... then that's what counts.

I sure can attest to that. Some of these are so weird that I almost quit trying to figure them out. I just filled up my 56th roll of relatively minor column bar cents. I also have two rolls of uunattributed coins with extra feet/knees, and still another roll where the column bars extend into the statue. I'm going to have to be real bored and desperate to start trying to attribute those :squigglemouth:

I bought two rolls of 2001 DDR, and they were all GEM BU. The point is, out of 100, (103, actually) a total of zero (none) of them had this anomaly. Odds are, this is gonna be a tough find in whatever condition, so congrats!
