Thanks for the link Thad,

That was interesting and especially the pictures that they showed. The 69' S DDO and of course the 58' DDO just gets me drooling. I miss my 1922 Plain after seeing Stewart Blay's.

Thanks again,
Lestrrr

Thanks Thad... what a great series of articles!
I am missing the interview because I purposely do not have sound on my computer.
Looking at a lot of the pictures and drooling so much I think Lesterrr and I need beach towels for bibs.
I have a sort of personal question about Mr. Blay... does anyone know if he is a jazz musician? I ask because I notice on the video that he is doing the same sort of counting with his nervous fingers like my musician hubby does when he doesn't have an instrument in his hands.

What? No sound? If you don't mind me asking....why?

I have no idea what Blay does or how he made all his money.

It is okay Thad, especially since I opened that door.
No sound for several reasons.
I do not like others using my computer and having no sound keeps them at bay.
I do not like getting beeped at every time I make a stupid little mistake.
I do not use my computer for playing music.
I do not care if the programs I use have sound or not. If the program requires sound then I just don't use the program.
I prefer peace and quiet instead of constant electronic noises.

I'm similar to Jean in that I don't have my speakers hooked up due to the kids playing their music and such too loud since the computer is in the living room with the T.V. . We end up fighting with the volume (turn up T.V., turn up computer) So I just keep the headphones plugged in. It works great for us.

Now that was a interview. It is interesting that he would tell you something up to a certain point. Well worth watching!

Ahhhh....LOL....I understand. You know you can just mute all the sounds, right? Then you can turn off mute when you temporarily want sound. That's what I do at work.

OMG Jean we must be related :LOL_Hair: I don't use sound for all your reasons!

Did anyone read about how Obama is allowing Youtube to place an embedded cookie on your computer which tracks you? I was amazed that he would endorse this sort of thing, having run on a no spying platform. Looks like he has a personal privacy blindspot, especially realizing that Youtube is second only to Google in searches, who own them. And there are Quicktime cookies which can only be removed from your system by visiting the Quicktime page and clicking on the proper boxes. Of course, once you are at the Quicktime page, they place a cookie on your system when you get there, and to remove it, you have to visit the page, and once you leave, there is a cookie placed on your system which can only be removed once you visit the Quicktime page, and once you leave the page, a cookie is placed on your computer which can only be removed by going to the Quicktime page, and when you leave, the Apple people put a cookie on your system which can only be removed by visiting the quicktime page, and once you leave, Apple places a cookie on your computer which can only be removed by visiting the Quicktime page, and after you visit the page, and remove the cookie, Apple places a cookie on your computer which can only be removed by visiting the Quicktime page...
Does Quicktime have a sound component...to find out you must visit the Apple page..
Why would Obama run on aprivacy platform and then endorse this sort of thing?

Legend,

First off this isn't a political forum. I agree that Obama did agree to do that. I for one don't use Quicktime nor do I visit youtube for these reasons. I would suggest that a political forum would best suit that question.

What has this to do with the Steward Blay interview?

Cookies are harmless and are in fact helpful. I suggest you download ccleaner, it will purge ALL cookies automatically when you run it. You can even specify which cookies to keep.

I forgot about CCleaner, so thanks. I saw a great piece on punking the Google cookie, and ran up on a site called Scroogle, and they do not give a hoot about data storage and keep logs for 48 hrs before deletion.
