After searching 22 1960D fed rolls here are my findings:

27 - 1960D-1MM-063 EMDS (the first picture...a very nice tilted RPM)

18 - of an unidentified RPM (the second picture...I've spent hours trying to find a match for this one.)

Over 100 - With a possible match to 1960D-1MM-071 (the third picture...a very minor RPM if it's not a die chip)

3 - With Lamination

Not Bad!

That is the problem with rolls. You get multiples of the same RPM. I could never figure out what to do with them.

I would love to trade them. That's the only thing I can think to do with them.

This is true, but it's a two-way street. What if you find a major DDO or whatever variety (for example, lets say the 2006-1DO-017/CDDO-028) in BU rolls from the bank? I sure wouldn't mind getting dupes of those!

My wife's digital camera, it's a Canon Powershot SD600. I set it on Marco and mount it on a tripod. And my Carlsan microscope on the 40X lens. Oh and an adjustable desk lamp for lighting. That way you can move the light around until you get the best image.

Very nice - I never went through rolls like that - I have many rolls of 1960's + 1959 Memorials Au/bu that I have saved - I'll have to take some time to check.
Thanks

My God...can you see straight anymore? LOL My eyes start buggin after one roll. 22 rolls would take me at least a month to go through. Of course, I'm mainly looking for quality coins and not so much varieties. I go through the first time and pick out the best candidates for my collection, then I go through all those to make the final selection (if there's even one better than what I already have). I often end up keeping 2-3 coins because it's so close....when I can't decide I keep 'em all. LOL

A collector friend (if he sees this thread he will know it's him), long time ago, out of the clear blue, sent me a solid BU OBW Fed. roll of 1960-D Lincoln cents.

I e-mailed him and asked what this for? He replied when you're bored on a long winter night, crack it open and have fun.

OK I said. Later on, on one of those long winter nights, I cracked the roll.

Out of the 50 coins, there were (37) 1960-D 1c RPM-001 (the big D/D west). Of the remaining 13 coins 4 of those was a different RPM.

I have since either sold them or given away all of them except one. I picked the best one and had it slabbed. It came back from ANACS MS66/Red RPM-001.

So, yep, there can be a lot of multiples in them solid unsearched BU rolls. If you're wondering how did he know what was in the roll. He told me he still has a bunch of those rolls!!!
