I have this 1973S Proof Quarter that I am getting ready to put on ebay. I think the 73 in the date is doubled. I am asking what everybody thinks?

While it does appear that there is doubling, I am hesitant to call it a doubled die. I just checked CONECA listings and there is only a master die reverse doubling listed.

I am not tot sure why you would want to put this on E-bay not knowing for sure if it is a doubled die or not, but that is up to you. I would wait and see what others think and then have it attributed by one of the many experts in this field. Once you know the full story of the coin, then proceed as you wish.

I do want to know what everybody thinks then I'll take the next step.I do not plain on putting it on ebay any time soon. I want to see everybodys feedback on this before I make a decide the next step for this coin.
Thank You for your reply.

Images from proofs can be very deceptive since there can be a lot of glare feedback that looks like doubling but is not. BJ is correct, it would require examination of the coin by an attributer and then proceed from there.

It looks more like strike doubling.

Its hard to say if it is or not. ALOT of proofs have the same type of doubling,if thats what this is.
Im not saying go ahead and put it on ebay but I seen alot worse coins with VERY NOTICED MD on it go for ALOT ,either becuz the buyer DONT KNOW or the buyer just thinks they know. I learned by actually falling for things before I knew what I know now. Live and Learn
