Hi All,

We just recently purchased a Wii System and an idea has come to me for a video game. I can do basic HTML and web design but in no sense can I develop a video game. Has anyone had experience in this or direct me in the right direction? I will be getting a patent on the idea/game but have just thought of it and made my initial game notes. Any and all guidance is appreciated!

Thanks,
Lestrrr

Edit: I forgot to mention that it pertains to Numismatics

I know how to play them 7 hours a day (World of Warcraft). That doesn't help. Let us know what comes of this.

You're on the right track with finding a way to protect your idea first. The next step would be to pick up some screenwriting software, or get in touch with a friend or someone who has some. I used to use MovieMagic Screenwriter 2000 and it was fantastic. You'll want to research writing a script for a video game. Movies and TV are pretty easy, games however, present some different problems. Read about it, figure out how to write your script, and begin sending out letters of inquiry to different gaming companies.
Don't send your idea to anyone, just ask them if you can. If you send your idea it will be tossed out as "unsolicited." Once they've said okay, send it out. Keep track of them asking for your script, as you might need proof of that later.
This is all if you want to create a full, in-dept, marketable game. If you just want one for fun, look up some flash tutorials online and you can build one to play on your computer.

Hope this helps.

Very cool, thank you.

I did a little research on the internet and got some good ideas as to how to do it. I'll look into the MovieMagic Screenwriter program.

Thanks again,
