I just came from the bank about a hour ago. One of the tellers called me and a man past away and he had a saftey deposit box. One of the kids came to the bank this morning and opened it. In side was papers and some coins and this sealed box from Federal Armored Express. He cashed the box in and here I am with the box still sealed. Now the question is should I open it or sell it. No body knows whats in side. They are pennies because on the side it says $25.00 cents. And I never seen a box like this one. Look at the pictures. The box opens from the middle. On the bottom you can see were the top flaps side through. What to do?

If the top side flaps slide into the box they are still used to-day. They are used by the Federal Reserve Bank, I get them once in awhile.

However you do not know what year you have. I would proably open the box to find out the year.

Still a nice find.

Yes I know. The top opens from the middle and it has two side flaps that slide into the sides of the box on the front.
Yours is still sealed with the Fed tape and you cannot see where the flaps slide into the side on the front when you close the lid.
I thought I had a empty one here at the house but no luck. It is a FEDERAL BANK BOX. It must have been an important year for someone to keep it in safety deposit box unopened.

I couldn't take it no more. :LOL_Hair: I open the box like a kid at chirstmas. They are bank wraped from the federal Armored Express. They are BU 1995 P rolls.

Great find Frank,

I wouldn't be able to refrain from opening the box either but now, do you open the rolls?

The bank were you got them put a order in to the FED bank for a box. Most banks that can order from the FEDS will do this for there customers and there is no extra charge.

You are right. The bank has changed there name many times, so I don't know if this bank order them or if they came from another bank. But still a very rare fine indeed.
Now to find out what the value on these rolls are, being truly unseached.I will be selling some of them. If anybody has any info please let me know.

Well this is as great as I thought. I open 2 rolls and each roll had about 5 to 8 different cents. A good 92% was BU 1995P cents. But when they were rolling these there must of been other pennies mixed in.still they are unsearched and over 90% are BU 1995 so there can still be alot of good ones in these rolls. There is no other coins past 1995 so I take it that this was bought in 1995.

You are never guaranteed that all the rolls contain one solid date. Some left over cents from a previous rolling sequence may have been mixed with the new coins. Just the luck of the draw.

I opened a sealed bag (Lead Seal) of 1964 pennies that had been rolled and put in the bag and sealed. I found two rolls that contained solid wheats. It was a nice surprise.
