My last find, possibly the least impressive. Is a 1983 Lincoln. Below the date where the potential D mint mark could be, is a blob of metal. A mangled mint mark? Or erronous blob of metal?

Not sure, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for the opinions.......

By your photos it looks to be a gas bubble that burst or PMD.
Can you change to a light pink background for your photos? It would proably help.

It looks like a filled mintmark. Thanks for the better photos again.

I'm still thinking it's a gas bubble but can't tell for sure from this distance. If it were a D then it would be tilted CCW.

You may be right on the gas bubble. Use your finger nail and see if you can move it or break it (If you don't want to keep the coin).

Since its seems to be not too crazy of a find....I went ahead and carefully tinkered with it...It seems to be solid metal, unmoveable, or popable :) about the size of what would have filled a D mint mark.....its a copper color like the rest of the coin....

I should save all my crazy finds, and meet one of you at regional coin show someday...to get first hand looks at my strange and wierd stockpiles...

My guess would be a filled mint mark.

I agree with Bob and my first opinion. (Second one's always help)
