stop the emails coming in from the forum?

Every time I respond to a thread and someone else responds behind me...I get an email. At the rate I'm going I'll end up with a thousand emails a day.

I don't mind at all having users be able to contact me via email, but I don't want the server sending emails to me.

I am still learning my way around but I believe if you go to the USER CP, click on it them scroll down to subscribed threads and click on List subscriptions. Check the box to the top right. This will select all subscribed threads. then go to the bottom therer will be a drop down box. select what you want done there. Hope this helps.

close! click user cp, on the left side (10th down) is edit options. you can opt out of receiving emails. I had the same problem.

I did all that and am still getting emails.

I'm not admin. or mod, but I think it's because the threads you subscribed to before you changed your settings to "no email", are still set to their original settings.

Open your subscribed threads, check all, then at bottom is an option box and one of the selections is "stop receiving e-mail notifications. Select that and should do it.

If you already did this, maybe you did it before changing your settings in notifications. Should be done after.

Okay, thanks...I figured the email thing was by user, not by thread...but this makes sense.

I just did it, let's see if this works.

To the admin of the site - I think the no-email notification should be the default when users create accounts. They should have to actively change to receive email notification after they join. I know with the number of threads I have responded to since becoming active here yesterday, I have received over 200 emails from the server, and it's a bit annoying.

Now I can put a stop to unneeded e-mails as well.

Dude i have the Same problem!! I was considering getting off the forum because it was cluttering my e-mail pages up. Thanks for that tip. I hope it works.

All subscriptions should be off by default now and upon registration.
