I got a bag of 1200 wheat pennies today and I just started going through them and already found two 1936 DDO and then I came upon this. It looks to me like clearly rotated 1 in the date. I looked on coppercoins and they don't show a 1953 S, Only P and D. You be the judge.

The 53' is definitely PMD but the 36's carry a premium depending on condition. Finding one of them is lucky but finding two of them...Wow! Bob P. found two 1917's so you can imagine how rare it is. Let's see the pics and then we can talk prices......it's really up to the market.

Either way...Congratulations!

Thanks, the two 36's are 1936P-1DO-002. Not die 1 with alot of doubling. But still good finds, Here is a picture of one, the other one is in the same condition.

Unfortunately I can't see enough detail on the coin to say yay or nay with the pics. You have it in hand and obviously are aware of coppercoins.com so does it show the same doubling (actually tripling) that Bob and Chuck show on their website? If it is the same then your looking at approx. $100 +/- each per coin. If you can get closer pics, I'd love to see them. Good Luck,

Yeah its the same with the doubling on the 9. I tried getting close ups. I will try tomorrow with better light.

It's not really the lighting, it's just that it needs to be alot closer so we can see detail. I don't know how comfortable you are with your camera but there should be a macro setting (a flower symbol). This is used for close-ups and then lighting will effect the outcome. Also, the size of the picture can be changed within the camera. I use (I think) 1260x860 or something like that. Maybe it's 860x760 but you can adjust it. Anyways, we just need to see it closer.

If your 36's are the same, make sure you verify the markers (scratches, chips, etc...) If so then Wow! Congrats to you.........can I have one? J/K.

I don't know your camera or set up but search some of the past threads on photos or cameras and you might see something that works for you. As for right now, I haven't seen your close-ups so try putting a piece of paper in front of the light to filter it.

Lestrrr

P.S. - Don't use your flash on your camera without a filter (paper/cloth)

The 53 is worth about a cent to me. People pay around 4 cents for wheats tho

Filter my flash lestrr? I never thought of that. I never use a flash but Im gonna try to filter it and see what comes from it
