Hmmm...I don't know what that is for sure, doesn't look like a typical CUD. The metal looks pushed up at the rim, maybe PMD or something wrong with the planchet? Can you post a close up of the anomaly on the reverse, maybe one that is not so contrasty?

yes the metal is pushed up on the opposite side and even a bit on the obverse

This is post mint damage. Looks like someone took a bite out of it with a pair of cutters or something.

edge shot is tricky haha.
Im not sure about it being post damage because then the "chunk" would just be folded over the field and I would be able to pry it up. This is embedded. But something struck it on the edge for it to have the cut into the edge? And on the right side near the last "A" in America, there is a strange bulge. Can this happen after the strike and as its being ejected from the die?

Being that the coin is almost 50 years old, it is real difficult to say when this may have happened. The metal does look folded over, and it's thickness and how hard it was compacted would be reason for not being able to lift up the metal. I would still tend to believe that it is post mint damage as I can not think of a way this would have happened during the striking process.
