Hi Folks,
I got my 2009 Formative Year rolls from the mint, and this is what was inside. I am still doing a bit more work before I add them to coppercoins. Take a look at those rolls from the mint!

NOTE: The two doubled die reverses are also paired with what I believe are doubled die obverses where the date exhibits some light extra thickness and a shift.

The other DDO shows minor notching on LIBERTY, and might be too minor to list, but it does show that this is occurring this years. ENJOY!

6th finger is already taken, take a look at ebay or the thread that I started about the 2009 error w/overlay. The guy that I did that for has a lot of them listed. Last that I checked one was at $12.75.

I received mine today and have only looked through the P's. Quite a few die cracks, a couple with cracks and a filled die (lower loop of B), one with a deep strike thru taking out the East side of the G in god, about 6 with that strike thru on the C of Cent and 4 of these that look like a die gouge or possible DDR of the thumb. I wish my pictures were as good as Bob's. Oh ya, I didn't count them but I have several that look like the class VI doubling on LIBERTY that Bob shows above. These Formative Year Lincolns are full of goodies...

Happy Hunting,
Lestrrr

I just found this one in the same rolls too! Not as flashy as the others but a doubled die anyway. All of these were found in the P mint rolls. I have not gone through the D mint rolls yet.

I think it should be called a "book marker cent" :)

I went through about half of the roll of D mint ones and haven't found a thing, just very minor die cracks. Going just by this, you might want to hold off on opening your D's. Just a thought.

Thanks Lestrrr. I will hold off on the D mint rolls for now. I still have a lot to do to complete attributing the ones I found and getting them on the coppercoins web site.

I bought some singles of each MM and design at coin show Saturday for 25
cents each, got an 09D cabin in change last week, and now am searching a fresh bank bag I bought May 21 and in first 16 rolls, picked out a 09P cabin. So, they are
starting to appear at about the same speed the 08's appeared last summer.

Because of this thread I decided to open one roll of the mint issue Philly log splitters and found a few with extra thickness and knotching in liberty and a few with what looks like the one Lestrrr posted. Looks like another thumb???

Nice find Steven,

I added another arrow that looks like another finger. On my coin this extra finger looks smaller than yours. I wasn't sure if that was the thumb or not so I sent one to Billy for attribution. Your pics look soooo much better than mine.

Nice work,
Lestrrr

P.S. - I'll actually add the pic this time! Is there some struck thru' on the actual hand of yours Steven?

Now how cool is that?? Very exciting to see these, and I beleive there have been 9 or 10 different ones reported to me. Don't you just love this when lots of folks start finding them. Share the wealth I say!

Looks like some damage after the strike.

Hey Steven,

I originally thought that the upper anomaly was the thumb then I noticed the second anomaly thinking it looked a lot like the other DDR middle finger remnants and figured the upper could just be a die gouge so I played around with overlays and the index finger and middle finger line up very nicely. The other DDR's have a N.E. rotation whereas these look to be shifted straight North. I can't get the coloring right on my overlays to see it clearly like Billy's but I think that's what we're looking at.

I haven't seen these on ebay or any other forum so if it is a true DDR then it's looking like these would be scarcer than the others. I'm probably getting ahead of myself due to excitement but thought I would share.

Lestrrr,
I looked the ones I found over again and yes there is a second finger doubled as you indicated, cool.

Also took a second look at the five coins with doubling on the obverse in the roll I opened and they appear to be a bit earlier than the 2009P-1DO-001 Bob has listed. There is no chip to the right of the book but the scratch behind the head on the obverse shows lightly and the die crack in the head on the reverse had just began.

Steven,

How many of these DDR's have you found? I found 4 in one roll and yours are the only other ones I've heard of. I was curious what the date on your box was also. Mine were 04/30/09, 10:06, 9774

Thanks,
Lestrrr

Thirteen 2009P-1DO-001's and eight of the DDR's in two rolls. Haven't opened the others. Both boxes were the same time and date 9:57 5/06/09 9883.

If the rolls you find are assembled or plastic - open them up - I found 3 "P"s in a roll of mostly "D"s, 2 of the 3 had a slight extra index not like the one I found last night. I have to find Wexler's sight again and see if it's listed otherwise Billy will see ( 2 ) coins. Gotta love em when there this easy to pick out and see!

Havent found any DDOs yet

The DDO's are hard to find and also you proably need the right lighting as suggested to me when looking for them.

I have 4 found in Mint rolls. Just a hint.. The dates are tootsie-rolled somewhat which is a key indicator to look for the notching on the date. Have fun!!!!!!!!:tinysmile_hmm_t:
