Found this guy last night, and while I've seen my share of grease-filled strikes I've never seen one so completely obliterated, with weakness on the reverse too. Could this be a die-adjustment strike or just amazingly heavy on the grease?

I would go with heavy on the grease.

I would say a extreme grease filled die indeed

Has anyone posted an example of a die adjustment strike? I searched and didn't find anything. If anyone knows it would be you Joe...

I do not believe anyone has. I will have to look, however I know I have a different denomination and not a Lincoln with a Die Adjustment. I have never found the right one in the Lincoln series that I was really crazy about.

If Brad does not mind I will post the other denomination Die Adjustment strike in the Discussion arena or elsewhere on the Forum.

Let me know if you want to see one.

OK I will have to hunt down the coin in the inventory and secure it from the holding area and Photograph it. Give me a little time.

The one thing about die adjustment strikes is that both sides must be weakly struck equally, just not one side. In the above case, this could be struck through a very late stage die cap or a grease filled die. Looking at the picture once again, I do believe it is a die cap strike through.

Here's a kennedy die adjustment strike and a cent would look the same way both sides are effected.

Here;s a pic of a die adjustment strike and a wrong planchet on a cent also.
