Does any one know if this MM is normal?

Of the two styles of MM for 1945 this one appears to be MMS-006, Ball Serif, with flat spot on lower ball (yours has been flattened so it does look a bit different).
The other style is MMS-004, Trumpet Tail.
Sometime ago I went to varietyvista.com and printed out the different mintmark styles so I could have copies at my desk. It has worked out to be a time saver for me.
Chances are you will find the other mintmark if you keep your eyes peeled.
