No idea...we need bigger pics. I enlarged what was provided and couldn't see anything because they are too small. Maybe try uploading a non-compressed version to a Photobucket account and posting a photo link here so we can get a good look. BTW which DDR do you think this is?

Trying taking a photo through a loupe or magnifying glass. That works surprisingly well.

If your talking about the bay to the right of lincoln, then no, its not a DDR. Thats part of the design.

The enlarged version you posted of bays 5-12 don't, to my eyes, don't show anything. I am still not even certain which DDR you are referring too - I assumed DDR-001 but I am honestly surprised the scanner didn't pick up the remnants of the doubled columns in bays 11 and 12.

Flatbed scanners often do a poor job of showing varieties. I know as I tried and tried. Brad's suggestion about holding a loupe in front of the lens of a digital camera, if an option, should produce better results. If that is not possible, and you can fine tune the scanner, try upping the DPI to 2000 or greater, confine the scan to just the coin and upload the large file to Photobucket or Tinypic and incorporate a link into a new post.

Schaf, don't give up just yet! I think you are referring to doubled knees. I believe that is what you are showing, IMHO.
