View Full Version : 1952-d rpms?? need some help here

What i have here are two 1952-d cents. I think these might be new rpm's or something else, trying to get your thoughts on these two coins. You can see clearly that there is another d placed over the nine of the date on both coins, i found these searching wheat rolls this year. Any help would be great.

It is difficult to be certain because the photos are so 'pixelated'. the 52D rpm 021 on coppercoins.com has a similar tail from the 9 to the D, but I do not see one that is exactly the same.
Can you de-pixelate your picture? Do you use the macro mode on your camera? If so the 'film speed', i.e., as in 200, 400, etc., like we use to buy for different situations, can be very helpful in getting clearer pictures. I try to get the equivalent of the 80 speed film with my camera. It does require lots of light and a very steady hand to take the pictures this way, but the results can be very good.

George, It's just an educated guess but they look like die cracks. I've seen many of these through the years that become more destorted with wear to the coin..
