Very nice finds. May I ask some questions if you don't mind?

A. Were those found over a period of time or all very recently?

B. What part of the country are you in?

C. About how many circ rolls do you search per day? I do about $10.00 per day myself. Rarely find goodies like that. I find about one a month 2000 wide AM and one per three months 1998 wide AM. One 1999 wide AM in over a year here in North East.
Only about 3-5 wheaties per $10.00, mostly 40s and 50s avg circ cond. Occasionally older but usually G-VG at best. Get a nice one once in a blue moon.

My last question.

D. Is it worth getting them slabbed unless they are scarce, or you expect a really high grade, like at least a MS66?

Thanks for any comments and again congrats for the finds. Stuff like that are what makes this hobby fun. Its like a treasure hunt. I have fun even when the only thing I find is a 1944 Curacao cent or a 1997 Zimbabwe one whatchamacallit.

Wow..That's alot of questions.. I found all those in a single lot. I'm on the west coast. I search coins here and there. I just finished searching 8 pounds in about a day..

I slabbed them because I that they would go AU58 or higher.. I usually slab anything that I like, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't..

Hi Pat:

Thanks for the info. I assume that was 8 pounds of wheaties, not just circ pennies from the bank. If so, do you get them mail order or from a local dealer? Do you buy them by the pound? or by the roll? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to improve my searching. I just buy customer rolls from various local banks for 50 cents per roll. The price is right but the pickings are slim.

If you want decent wheats, I would recommend a coin shop. The coin shop I go to sells them to me for 4 cents each, then buys them back for 3 cents each. I would not expect to find any key dates like a 1909 S VDB.

I buy all of them local. This lot was from a yard sale that had two old foldger coffee cans of coins. Mixed dates of Wheats and Memorials and a few dimes..

I also buy bulk like this and pass them right along without even searching them.. It's is impossible to search everything and still have a life.

I use ngc. I sent my 92D close am to PCGS to try it out. So far NGC all the way.

Too much.. aahah :)

Depends on the service you choose, modern isn't too bad.. If a coin is worth $1 more than the cost I slab it usually.. Unless it's just an pre-40 than I slab it regardless above VG-8 but that is expensive after awhile..:)
