1992 mintmark

Hello, any feedback on this 1992 d would be helpful. It's the mintmark that I am questioning.

By your pictures I would say the area around the MM has a plating problem.

One thing for sure, it is not a RPM; they stopped in 1990. As pointed out, it does seem to be a plating problem where the copper layer has been split or stretched and broken in that area. This is caused by the design element's edge being a bit to sharp and actually cutting the copper layer, thus leaving a break. Eventually, when the elements begin to corrode the zinc core due to this exposure, you will see a bubble in that area, then a cavity.
