Im not sure if this is a "wavy step" it just seemed strange that the middle steps are not defined. Any input on this one?

I see what you mean by the steps. Unfortunately it is probably die wear causing the blank steps. Lately I have taken to photographing wavy steps upside down from the top of the coin at a slight angle. When I see the light picking up waviness in the steps then I shoot the picture at as low film speed (ISO) as possible, which gives me more control over the quality of the enlarged picture. Balancing the light so there isn't as much glare is also very tricky.
All in all, I think I detect a bit of 'wavy step' near the top of the stairs, and on the right side of the stairs under columns 11 and 12. If you can get a photograph with less glare and a little clearer it would be great for the experts here to be able to tell you definitively about the anomaly.

I cannot tell either. More than a few dies from the 2006 Lincoln cent had ill-defined stairs. This maybe one of those dies.

I always look for wavy steps turning penny over to upside down. Mainly because
my light source is from front of scope. I use a 11.00 wallyworld halogen light. I have
seen many '06's with the filled in steps, sometimes I see a wavy step on one.

I have seen a lot like that in the bank rolls I have looked through lately and the majority of the ones have looked exactly like yours. I am trying to find the wavy steps and have had no luck.
