I'm I seeing right, and is it possiable that an older die got used by mistake.......... two pics, one of the right font, one of the one in question.

More than likely it is die abrasion that has changed the look of the "G".

I agree with BJ, the die probably just worn down and altered the G. Everything else looks normal.
