I have this unc 1943 and I am not sure about the back ground with the lines going left to right. Is this a error worth keeping?
Hard to say for sure from the pics, but is it reprocessed?

At first I was thinking die scratches, but then I was wondering the same thing Brad inquired about, the reprocessing. If it wasn't on the die (i.e., scratches) or from being re-plated, then I guess it could be a planchet issue but I am not qualified to comment on that...

The coin is not reprocessed.

I have just checked the three very nice 43's in my album and one of them has very faint scratches similar to your coin but in a NE to SW direction. I do not know what caused them except possibly file marks. Yours is a nice looking coin.

It's almost impossible to tell with the coloring of your pictures but first thought is replating. Can you take pictures with true natural lighting/coloring?
Thanks,

I suppose it could be planchet striations which are defects in a blank (http://en.mimi.hu/numismatic/blank.html) planchet caused by impurities in the metal, that are not obliterated when the coin (http://en.mimi.hu/numismatic/coin.html) is struck (http://en.mimi.hu/numismatic/struck.html).
